Costco shoppers love the warehouse superstore in any season but there are plenty of great deals to enjoy in the summer months, too. Hear from Costco fanatics about some of their favorite products to pick up at Costco. For instance, Costco fanatics love being by the poolside, at the beach, hosting a barbecue, and simply taking advantage of longer, lazier days.
Here are 10 hot buys Costco fanatics always add to their cart when the weather begins to warm up — after you check out these insider secrets from a Costco employee.
Mac Sports XL Folding Wagon
“I use this wagon I got from Costco frequently,” says Stacey Woodson, MS, RD, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “It’s versatile for lugging around groceries, tired kids, beach or pool supplies, and luggage. It also makes packing meals and drinks for picnics and sporting events a breeze. It’s easy to collapse and store in the car, so I always have it handy whenever I need it.”
Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water
“I love Costco’s organic coconut water as my go-to drink for hot summer days,” says Wan Na Chun, MPH, RD, CPT, Owner of One Pot Wellness, based in Indianapolis, IN. You can get a 12-pack of 11.1-ounce cartons.
“Coconut water is especially great in the summertime because it is refreshing, hydrating, and packed with electrolytes. The pink color in Costco’s coconut water indicates minimal processing and higher antioxidants as a result. It’s organic, free from added sugars, and a great way to recover from the summer heat.”
Kirkland Signature Organic Lemonade
“One of my favorite summer beverages would have to be the Kirkland Signature Organic Lemonade,” says Andrew Priobrazhenskiy, Financial and Savings Expert at DiscountReactor, now located in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Italy. Priobrazhenskiy swore by these summer hot buys when he lived in the United Kingdom, Spain, and France. “It’s so refreshing for a summer day at a barbecue or just relaxing by the pool. Weber Grills

They are well made, effective, and very reasonably priced for all your summer grilling, says Priobrazhenskiy. Quality makes a difference and it’s important to have your food cooked on a grill, he says. Sometimes, there are Weber grill models exclusive to Costco, so be on the lookout for those, Priobrazhenskiy suggests.

You’ll have the most popular home on the block when you let the neighbors know you’ve picked up Costco’s Ninja CREAMi ice cream maker. “With its range of settings, such as ice cream, sorbet, milkshake, and frozen yogurt modes, the Creami is incredibly versatile,” says Na Chun. “It’s simple to use and allows me to create a variety of flavor combinations and textures, from thick, creamy ice cream to icy sorbets. (Yes, that’s an ice cream maker that’s dietitian-approved!) “Compared to other major retailers, Costco sells the CREAMii for a great price.”
3-Piece Outdoor Patio Seating Set
Whether you have a small balcony or porch, a tiny garden patio, or simply want more seating in your backyard, this three-piece patio set (two chairs and a table) is a great deal for $499.97. “From a new patio set to extra seating for company, many of the components offered at Costco are trendy, strong, and inexpensive,” says Priobrazhenskiy. “It’s just perfect for adding comfort and hospitality to your outdoor space for all those summertime get-togethers.”
Kirkland Signature Organic Quinoa
Quinoa is a fiber-rich grain and a complete protein, making it a great addition to any meal, says Stephanie Magill, MS, RD, owner of Soccer Mom Nutrition, in Seattle, Washington. “I love the versatility of quinoa since it can be used with sweet and savory, or hot and cold dishes. In the summer one of our go-tos is a quinoa salad with roasted or grilled veggies and chicken. Costco makes this easy with the pre-cooked rotisserie chicken and pre chopped veggies that make pulling this dish together a breeze.”
Cherry Bay Orchards Tart Cherry Juice
“An item that I love to purchase from Costco is the Cherry Bay Orchards Tart cherry concentrate,” says Danielle Mach, MS, RDN, owner of Nutrition Revamped, in Chicago, Illinois. “It’s an affordable cherry juice concentrate – you get two 32 fl oz jugs – and it tends to be more available in the summer due to it being primarily cherry season. The tart cherry juice concentrate is especially helpful for enhanced recovery and managing inflammation after my workouts during the summer months.”
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 55, 5 fl oz + 3 fl oz
Bulk packs of sunscreen that can be found at Costco, Neutrogena in particular, are very handy and easy on the wallet, says Priobrazhenskiy. “Costco sells these on a multi-pack basis, which is great for any family that spends a lot of time outside and goes through sunscreen quickly.” You’ll save by buying sunscreen in bulk and the 3-ounce size meets the TSA requirements for carry-on liquids.
CedarCraft Self-Watering Elevated Spruce Planter
Another favorite spring and summer find is this CedarCraft garden bed on wheels, says Magill. “Nothing beats the fresh crunch of homegrown salad greens or sweet snap peas. It is perfect for smoothies and chills yogurt on the go.”
